Mixed Media Tag: Be Free

Hello again! Today I wanted to share a mixed media tag that I had a lot of fun creating 🙂 I like to use some embellishments, ribbons, chipboards. But, sometimes it makes your art journal so bulky, so I took the opportunity with the tag and did whatever I wanted to without worrying to close the journal. Hope you enjoy it. Also, if you want to watch my video to see how I did it, here it is. You will also find all the supplies I used at the end of my post and also on my YouTube video:

The idea in my mind was to have a rustic, farm like look and feel. And also I had this idea of a stone path going to the horizon. So, I started with stamping a stone path from a Paper Artsy stamp set and created my path on a paper I chose from Prima Nature Garden pad.  IMG_1803

Then I used another paper pad from Bo Bunny to create the sky. It’s so pretty, isn’t it 🙂 After sticking the stone path and sky, my base was ready. You will see the stones are defined with black. I used black liquid pearl to make them raised and more defined. Then I decided to have a fence and a bird house. I got the bird house from the same Paper Artsy stamp set, and stamped it on another piece of paper to stick it on top of the tag with foam tapes to have a raised image. And on top of that, I sticked my lovely fence that I got from Dusty Attic.

You will notice some green grass behind the fence. I stamped with a grass stamp to create some interest and texture as if the grass is coming through the fence.

Then I wanted to have some birds, of course having a bird house 🙂 I stamped some birds in the sky from again the same stamp set of Paper Artsy (so it was very complete, and handy stamp set actually). Also, punched some very little and cute birds and sticked them on the bird house again with dimension and also one on the sky.

And it was time for the sentiment and finishing touches. I chose to use a sticker set from Bo Bunny to use for the sentiment: Be Free. I sticked them on black cardstock and made some fish tails, to have a nicer image. Then I went over the letters with Glossy Accents to make it more interesting. Also I framed the tag with distress ink. Of course, I have to have ribbons on my tag 🙂 I chose to combine a natural string and a green ribbon that goes with the colours on my tag. This completed the rustic – farm feeling that I was after.

Hope you liked my tag and my video. I would love to hear from you, please leave me comments, and follow my blog if you like it.

Hope to see you again! 🙂
