Art Journal

Art Journal #3: Choose Hope

Hi again! I’m here with another art journal I made on a chipboard page this time. I really like these type of journals because I can add as many embellishments or layers as I want, and it won’t be bulky. My aim was to have a texture with a modeling paste and build some colours on it to highlight this texture. You will find all the supplies at the bottom of this page. And you can watch the video to see how I created this page:

After applying some gesso all over this page, I first created my brick texture with Tim Holtz stencil. Then I chose Distress Blueprint Sketch as my base colour to cover it, and then blended many other colours to build it up and highlight the bricks with lighter colours. After I used Creative Workshop Metallic Wax pots to give a gold-bronze colour to the bricks. ย Then they really came to the front and made a good contrast with the background.

I embellished my page with butterfly chipboards and some leaf cut outs. I used wax paint again on butterflies and I used distress paint on leaves.

Lastly, I used mini Dovecraft alphabet stamps and Tim Holtz Tall Text for the sentiment. And in case you’re wondering why I choose sentiments with Hope all the time, my name Umut means Hope ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s why it gives me inspiration mostly.

I hope you like the page, and if you do, don’t forget to leave me a comment or hit the like button ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, please visit my Youtube channel channel and subscribe to see other videos.

See you next time!
