Hello! Welcome to a fun project.I adore the Stampendous stamps designed by Tim Holtz: Crazy birds, dogs and cats. So I got hold of them all and created a mini art journal project. Since it’s Halloween time, I decided to make 3 easy at journals using my mini chipboard journal featuring a crazy dog, cat and the bird in each page. I will release the next video and post every two days. You can watch teh video to see how I did it, here:
I really enjoyed doing all the pages because they are so cute. And it’s really easy to replicate.
The first one features this adorable dog. I used Distress paints at the background, mainly Spiced Marmalade, a little bit Rusty Hinge. Then, I have a border with Walnut Stain and Black Sooth Distress inks. I stamped crackles at the background to give some interest. I downloaded a Haunted House image from Silhouette Design store to cut it with my digital cutter. I’m using a Silhouette Portrait cutter, and I love it! It’s very useful to easily cut intricate images. You can make them larger or smaller. Once you invest in the machine, it’s very cheap to buy the images, or you can even cut your own. So, I would advice you to check it out.
I created some windows and door for my house, coloring piece of card stock, sticked them on top of each other. Then used glossy accents on the windows to make them look like glass. I also stamped and die cut my dog. For these stamps, I would advise to get the dies as well. they are intricate, and to make your life easy, it’s very useful. I colored him, and used foam tape to stick on my page, as well as the house.
I embossed some spiders. Then I cut some ghosts myself. The idea was to make the ghosts chase the dog:) And the sentiment says: Too Cute to Spook 🙂 For the sentiment I used two sets of alphabet. I love Stampendous Storybook Alphabet, it’s just so cute. I embossed the sentiment with orange and black embossing powder. They are from the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Collection, it’s actually a Halloween set. So, it has all the Halloween colors.
Lastly, to have a bit more interest at the background, I used a stencil I cut myself with again my Silhouette machine. I used the bats with black ink.
So, that’s the first page! Stay tuned for the second one, it will be the Crazy Cat:)
