Hello! This is the third and last page of my mini art journal series for Halloween. I really enjoyed creating them and I hope you enjoyed watching. I wanted to show you what you can do simply creating few pages with a concept and have your journals as memories of what you created. It’s also easier to create journals on small chipboards, as it’s a smaller page to work on, and it allows you to embellish freely without thinking about the bulk.
So, here it is the third page on vide if you want to watch how I created it. Full list of supplies are at the bottom of this page and also at the description area in YouTube.
I used black gesso to cover my page and bright Dylusions on top in Crushed Grape to create my purple background. To give a bit of Shimmer, I used a bit of gliding wax in orange color here and there. I bordered my page using a stamp by Dylusions. This black and white border brought an interest to the page and it really goes well with the colors I used.
As Focal points I cut some pumpkins to make a pile. I did some coloring and shading with Distress inks and Faber Castell Pitt Brush pen. This way, they look more real. I sticked them on top of each other with Matt medium. Then I stamped my bird on a pice of card stock. I decided to color it with Caran Dache Luminance pencils. I love these pencils. They are so soft and blend very nicely.
I gave him a broom and a hat that I downloaded from http://www.graphicstock.com
He is so so cute with this costume 🙂
Then here comes my googly eyes again. I sticked 2 pairs at the background as if they are ghosts watching from behind.
My sentiment is ‘Spooky’, and I love these alpha chipboards by Tim Holtz Idea-logy.
To create a feeling of a crop field, I also used a fence and made some grass. I used Dusty Attic ‘crooked fence’ chipboard. And I simply used a paper and colored it with Distress inks to cut some grass out of it. I also pulled the grass coming through the grass, and this created a nice effect. Lastly, I wanted to have a crow on the fence. I drew it myself as I didn’t have a stamp. I colored it in black and gave him a goggly eye as well 🙂
I also wanted to bring these 3 pages together as a mini art journal. I binded the pages with a twine, one hole only. Then I sticked a pumpkin sequin with a glue dot. These sequins are great, from Little Things by Lucy. She has many more amazing sequins you can use in your shaker cards. Check out: http://www.lucys-shop.com/
