Hello! Welcome again. Here’s a mixed media canvas I actually created a while ago. I just couldn’t get to the editing for months 🙂 I wanted to play with gelatos this time, and create an embellished canvas.
You can watch the process video here and find the full list of supplies at the bottom of this post or at the description area at YouTube as usual:
I used a pattern paper from 13 Arts. It’s a Polish company and they ship to a lot of countries. They have very nice pattern papers. I selected a few pages, then torn them to make it more interesting, and sticked them on my page like a decoupage. Then, I used 3 colors of gelatos to create a background. I love these colors of blues, greens and yellows. I did some background stamping with Kaisercraft stamp that has music notes. I used balck ink to create a striking contrast.
I also bordered my board with black gelato, so that there’s definition to it. Also, I did some splashed with black acrylic paint to bring everything together.
To embellish my page, I used street sign embellishments from Prima. Prima has great embellishments if you check out. I sticked this sign using strong glue, for it not to fall apart later. Another embellishment I used is from Bo Bunny and called Natural Petals. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any online store that has it still, so apologies for that. You can easily use white petals and paint them yourself. I do it all the time. It’s hard to find flowers of every color. I always have white and paint them according to the page I make.
I selected some petals, and built them on top of each other creating more interest. Then I used enamel dots in the center of them that would match the background colors. Lastly, I colored the petals a little bit with gelatos again I used at the background, so that they come together nicely. I sticked the flowers according to where I want them to be, and the page was done!
I hope you liked it, please don’t forget to subscribe or leave me comments if you did.
See you next time 🙂
