Art Journal Page: Nature’s Beauty

Hello! Welcome to another art journal page. I usually like to do some paper piecing, but this time I went and used my stencils. And I love the outcome 🙂 To see how I created this page, you can watch the video here. You will also find list of supplies at the bottom of the page or at the description area in YouTube:

I used my big Dylusions journal this time, because I wanted to create my focal point by using a big stencil and texture paste. And the small journal wouldn’t allow me because of the split in between. I started with doing some background stamping just to give a bit of interest behind it. Then I covered it with Gesso and pushed it at the back. I used Distress paint in Stormy Sky as background color making it darker on the borders and bringing it to the center lighter. Then I used Prima crackle stencil to do some texture work around the page. I also used a bit of Blueprint Sketch Distress ink to give a border to my page darkening up the edges.

I placed my Beautiful Donna Downey stencil in the middle of the page and used modeling paste on it. After I dried it, I used my gelatos to give colour to the flowers. I used yellow tones and orange tones to make them pop against the blue background.

I also punched some butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch. This makes my life really easy instead of cutting so many butterflies. I gave them orange or yellow colours using my Distress inks. I sticked them only from the middle, leaving their wings up in the air. This way they look dimensional.

I finally placed my sentiment using stickers and a stamp set. I also gave a border to my page sprinkling some mica flake in dark blue color. This gave some texture, interest and created a nice border.

I hope you liked the page. If you did, please don’t forget to give thumbs up, subscribe or share. Also, please leave me comments, tell me what you want to see more of 🙂
