Hello! We’re past Christmas and counting down to close 2016. I wanted to wish you all happiness, peace, joy and all the rest for the new year. So, I created this journal page to do so 🙂 You may find the process video here if you want to see how I created it. You will also find full list of supplies at the end of the page or at the description area on YouTube:
I used Prima Metallique paint and Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paint for my background. I’m a little hung up on this cool look with light blues at the moment, so that was my choice 🙂 Then I did some splashed with white to create snow effect. In general I will stick to blues, whites and reds on the page to have a pop up effect with these contrasting colors.
The idea in this page was to divide the page into parts, so there are several windows with different elements, so it creates some interest. I drew these parts with my pencil and then completed the sections. Then I trimmed some white paper in strips, sticked them to create my windows. in each of the parts, I placed some elements and wishes related to new year and winter. You will see snow man on the left that I created myself die cutting 3 circles. I also gave him a hat and a scarf. I die cut some wishes from an Avery Elle die set, and the others using a sticker set by Tim Holtz. On this window, we have Joy and adventure.
Moving on, I had 2 other windows following the snowman. I put a part balloon cut from a Lawn Fawn die set together with some trees. Then below, some snowflakes and Love as another wish.
On the other page, I had 3 windows. In the middle, I stamped my sentiment with a big Tim Holts stamp set, completing with a Happy from another set. On top, I had another balloon and some snowflakes again with Peace. Below, I cut many presents from a Lawn Fawn pattern paper, and stacked them as a pile.
I gave ribbons and some highlights with my white gel pen. Overall, I punched some hearts in white and red and spread them through the page. I used my Glitter pen to go over hearts and snowflakes to give some shimmer. I also used my Glossy Accents on the hearts as usual. I also made more dimentional snow using Nuvo Crystal Drops.
To give more definition and make them pop out of the page, I went around my elements like snowman and gifts with Faber Castell fine tip pen in black. I also did some shading around them with Faber Castell big brush marker.
And that was it 🙂 I hope you liked the page and enjoyed the video. If you did, please don’t forget to give me a like and subscribe. That’s how I know you like my projects.
I wish you all the best in 2017, have a great year!!!
