Mixed Media Tag

Mixed Media Tag: Stay Simple

img_3130

Hello again! This time, I created a mixed media tag that I used lots of mediums. It’s always a lot of fun to throw things at your project and then it all comes together with color 🙂

If you want to see how I created this tag, you can watch the process video here. As usual, list of supplies are at the end of the post or at the description area in YouTube:

I used a chipboard tag since I wanted to add lots of embellishments, texture, etc. I used black gesso to cover the base because I wanted to give the color over black, which gives another look. I was looking at making blue tones pop over black. Then one by one, I added my textures, and embellishments. I used a stencil and black embossing paste. Over that, I added some tiles, a fish net shape chipboard, some chains and stones. Then I covered all this again with black gesso.

To color this look, I used sprays from Prima Color Bloom and Lindy’s Stamp Gang in blue and turquoise tones.

Then, I added my focal point. I used a chipboard frame to place my flowers inside. I used beautiful flowers from Bo Bunny. To bring all the texture to the front and make them visible, I used a bit of white gesso and Nuvo Glimmer paste. Nuvo glimmer paste is an amazing product. It’s paste in gorgeous colors that has glitter in it. You can use it like paste, with your stencils or alone as texture. I used it spreading with my brush on the texture and on my flowers. Its color was bright blue, so it helps brighten the look, gave a really nice pop and contrast.

As you can see from the picture, it’s very bright. Then I added some blue pearls from a Bo Bunny jewel collection and put a simple twine on my tag as well as a short sentiment from a Tim Holts sticker set.

And that was the project today, I hope you like it. Please don’t forget to give thumbs up or subscribe if you like my projects. See you next time!
