Hello! Welcome to another post and an art journal page layout. I do love nature, trees, flowers, etc. When I look around, it all looks like a miracle. So, I take a lot of inspiration from nature, and this was one of them. The idea came from the sentiment 🙂 If you want to watch the process of how I created the page, here is the video. You will find supply list down below or at the description area at YouTube:
I started creating the background with my beloved Prima Art Alchemy paints. The Green I chose has a violet hint in it. It’s really lovely, and has a nice shimmer to it. Then I went over it with a pink color to give some more interest and variance. I used my brush to apply, as I like the texture coming from strokes sometimes. Then I did some texture work with a Prima stencil around the page. I mixed a darker green paint with Faber Castell pearlised texture paste. This way you don’t lose the shimmer of your paint. If you mix it with other modelling paste, you will lose the shimmer unfortunately. This way, I also had a nice border to my page. Then I did some background stamping with a simple little stamp that has leaves using a green ink. This was just to make the background more interesting.
For my focal point, I chose another loved product that I go back again and again. My Sizzix TIm Holtz die that has many leaves and branches. I love this die because the size and shape of leaves are very varied. I used it before for my Fall page. And I coloured them the same way. I put a few colours of Distress ink on my mat and I just spray water, then dip my leaves in it. This way, you get a surprising effect and have a natural multi colour finish.
I kept the colour scheme soft as well in harmony with the page. I created a wreath and sticked them on the page in that shape. I stamped my sentiment with Tim Holtz alpha set. I did a bit of splashed with brown to bring the page together. Then, I sticked little die cut leaves around. I also added a couple of bird brads to give interest.
I hope you liked the page and got inspired. Please don’t forget to give a star or subscribe if you like my projects 🙂 See you next time!
