Hello! Here’s another art journal with a work out look. I just love the layers on it and all the elements related to travelling, something that I love 🙂 In this journal, I tried to show you glazing technique that allows you to have textures that are unexpected and very interesting. If you want to watch the video, here it is. Also, list of supplies are down below and at the description area in YouTube.
I did some stamping at the start and covered it with distress paints in various colours of greens and turquoise shades. I used Distress paints.
I also did lots of texture work with stencils at different places of the pages. After this texture dried, I did glazing with Vintage Photo and Black Sooth paint to create this worn out look. You can see in the video, how I did this.
I had lots of ephemera related to traveling from many scrapbook kits. So, I used them to create interest on the page layering them on top of each other. Stamps, tickets, words, etc.
I cut this big world on my digital cutter, Silhouette Portrait. I used a scrapbook paper to cut it, with a world map on it, so that it has a texture already. Then I distressed it with Vintage photo ink to make it look old, like all other embellishments.
These little monuments are from http://www.graphicstock.com . You can get royalty free images here with subscription. So, I download a lot from there. You will find the links down below as well.
Finally, I did my border with another scrapbook paper at the back of both pages, and I stripped my original pages a bit to allow this border. I really like this method, as it brings a lot of interest.
Finally, I stamped my simple sentiment with Tim Holtz alphabet letters.
I hope you liked it. Please don’t forget to subscribe and share with friends if you did. Hope to see you next time!
